A full modular tileset for a grid-based puzzle game — ancient stone ruins slowly reclaimed by moss, roots, and vegetation. Dark, muted, and designed for gameplay readability first.
Built at 64×64 in a near-top-down 3/4 perspective, matching the game's existing character sprites. The whole set uses a restricted palette — dark grey stone, muted olive moss, earthy brown — with activated puzzle elements and gems providing the only bright color contrast.
What was included:
3 floor tiles (base + variations to avoid repetition)
14 wall tiles — straight, end, top edges (N/S/E/W), outer corners, inner corners
2 root tiles — walkable for the player, but block movable stones
Small pit + 4-tile big pit
Movable stone
Sapphire gem tile
Symbol tiles — inactive + active (cyan glow)
Core tiles — closed + open
Design considerations:
Walls read as solid and raised from above — each tile works standalone
Every element needs to be instantly distinguishable for puzzle gameplay
The activated state (symbols, Core) uses the same cyan as the character's magic crack, keeping the visual language consistent across assets
Modular construction so any level shape can be built from the pieces
